We have cancelled any further events January, February, March 2021 as we knew them.

Keep an eye on www.SimcoeDHumane.ca for more information.

We are still helping the animals and people!  During 2020 we have not stopped helping the animals and people!

We will continue to help those most vulnerable animals.

Everything will once again be done virtually!

We will still need your donations of Food (Dog, Cat, Kitten, Small Animal, Rabbit), Litter (Non-Clumping/Unscented), Rabbit Bedding (Not Shavings), Yesterdays News Litter and Puppy training Pads.

We apologize but will not be taking donations of Blankets, towels, or other cloth items at this time.  Please hold them for us.

During the COVID-19 Lockdown and until Further Notice, our office staff will be working from home and available to serve you and take donations via Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit through our cats line 519-428-2287.

You may always email office@s-dhs.ca to set up an appointment for everything or email adoptions@s-dhs.ca to set up a Foster2Adopt

We will bring a donation card, a baggie for cash or cheque and the debit machine for Visa, MasterCard, Debit donations to your car for you to make your donation.

We do Prefer Visa, Debit, MasterCard instead of Cash or Cheque as banking is very different now.

You can also donate through our website www.SimcoeDHumane.ca or e-transfer finance@s-dhs.ca

We will help you at your car to apply for Foster Home or Adoptions.

If you are there to pick up a Foster2Adopt animal, please open the door that we should place the animal through.

Thank you for your understanding as we follow all Government and Shelter Care Guidelines and do our part at putting a stop to the pandemic.

If you need to speak with someone in the office Monday and Saturday 11am - 3pm call our number 5194289161 press 1

Tuesday - Friday 11am - 3pm call 519-428-2287

If you leave a message, we will try to return your call within 24 hours.

During COVID-19, we have continued the care of the most vulnerable animals and have seen the cost of care, PPE, extra sanitation (both financial and physical time) and length of time of animals in care rise drastically.

We have lost so much in Fundraising Dollars and donation dollars are way down!

Although we have planned online and virtual events with curbside pick-up, following ALL government and Shelter guidelines it is not reaching our needed financial amounts needed to help the animals.

We look forward to your support and appreciate your financial donations!

e-transfer finance@s-dhs.ca or donate with PayPal

We can't do it without you!

COVID-19 Update August 4 2020

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support the work of SimcoeDHumane during the last few months. Whether you have fostered, donated, fostered-to-adopt, volunteered, worked with animals at the shelter, helped with veterinary care or shared kind words during the struggles of animal-sheltering during a pandemic, you gave us the strength to carry-on each day.

Starting this week we are back to our regular office hours:

11am -3pm (Closed Wednesday and Sunday) for donations, adoption fee payments, Royal Canin food sales, virtual foster-to-adopt pick ups or arrangements and supply pickups.

We ask that all money transactions be done with debit, visa, mastercard or e-transfer.

Following all precautions we will still be:
  • adopting virtually and
  • ask that you use our online tools to adopt, foster, volunteer,
  • order your supplies or Royal Canin foods online
  • e-transfer finance@s-dhs.ca or use a paypal link on our website to donate
  • email to get in touch!
If you visit the shelter you will be asked to:

Update on Services May 20 2020

However, most of our work will be done virtually.

We will only have 1 volunteer in the shelter at a time and the public will not be able to enter until further notice.

We will be following all previously set protocols for shelter sanitation, animal wellness and volunteer/staff/client health and safety.

It is a new normal of animal and shelter care ... we will follow all appropriate Shelter Care Guidelines suggested by Veterinary, Shelter, and Government bodies.

Intake of Strays, surrenders, abandoned, etc will still be individually assessed. Urgent requests will be done by appointment through the internet www.SimcoeDHumane.ca or phone 519-428-9161 for emergency press 2 (message may be left)

Please do not use facebook, twitter or other social media for urgent requests.

All Adoptions will be “foster-to-adopt” with a minimum 2-week foster timeline.

Because we are “virtual”, and you are choosing your pet online we want to make sure everything “fits”
