Simcoe and District Humane Society is a non-profit, charitable organization Chartered in 1953, Performing Animal Welfare Services in and around Norfolk County since the early 1950's.
The Society is funded by fundraising efforts and donations from the community and relies solely on volunteers to work with the animals and raise the money for their care.
Please, we want you to understand that we did not stop working during COVID-19 and have learned a lot in a unique way of sheltering.
We are open 11am - 3pm (closed Wednesday) and by appointment on Sunday. When we have kittens, they may be at Ruffin's Simcoe and when animals are completely ready, they will be at PetSmart Meadowlands Ancaster.
We will do our best to facilitate the purr-fect adoption of your new fur-ever friend

NOTE: Fact vs Fiction
- FACT: IT IS THE LAW that every animal (Dog, cats, ferrets, other pets, and farm animals) be vaccinated against Rabies by the time they are 3-4 months old.
- FICTION: The Rabies vaccine doesn't matter if it is an indoor only pet.
- FACT: To be fully immunized your pet must receive a rabies booster 1 year after the initial booster even if a 2yr, 3yr was given AND your pet is only an indoor pet.
- FACT: Rabies Vaccines may only be administered by a Veterinarian.
